VSP was recently updated to the new Security & Privacy (S&P) app, which provides the same state-of-the-art protection from viruses and malware, malicious websites, and harmful Wi-Fi networks that you enjoyed as a VSP customer.
Look out for the app update on your smartphones and tablets. When you get the update, please accept the Terms and Conditions in the new app to keep your device protected.
What is Security & Privacy?
Verizon Security & Privacy is a powerful security solution that protects you and your device from malware and threats. It is available at no additional cost to Verizon Wireless customers. Customers also can expand that protection across all of their household's devices, regardless of platform (PC, Mac®) for a monthly fee.
What is the Security & Privacy (S&P) app?
The S&P app protects Android smartphones and tablets from malware, risky websites and apps, and unsecure Wi-Fi connections. It also allows customers to extend protection for all of their household's devices directly from the app for a monthly fee.
Do I need the S&P app if I already have the Verizon Support & Protection (VSP) app?
Yes. The VSP app will be removed from service soon. If you already have VSP installed on your device, it will be updated to S&P app. When you receive the update, please proceed with accepting the Terms and Conditions on the splash page of the new S&P app and begin using the new security features.
Which VSP features are not available anymore?
Since the Android™ operating system now provides the native ability to remotely lock, locate, wipe and ring your device, and to manage your device's performance and battery life, the following features are not available in VSP anymore:
